Ocean Moments No. 17 — Wave Breaking

A large breaking wave sweeps across this small canvas, filled with soft turquoise, blue and creamy white tones. The delicate sandy colours at the bottom suggest the shoreline beneath the tumbling water.
I’ve used expressive marks and layered texture to capture the movement and power of the wave while retaining a feeling of light and freshness.
This original acrylic ocean painting is part of the Ocean Moments collection — a series of small paintings inspired by my love of the sea and those fleeting moments that make us stop and watch the waves.
