The painting is starting to take shape now.
This stage involves adding layers to get depth in the snow and behind the trees. Here I have used a palette knife, fine brush and the edge of a bank card !
I also begin to add some greenery and then my favourite stage for this painting, working on the bark.
The Eucalyptus trees have amazing bark and the more you look the more colours you see. When I am happy with the first working of the detail I place the painting where I walk past it every day. This allows me to take stock of the progress and see what I want to add or change.
